An evening in December, and San Nicolas filled up: galleries open late, stalls down the street, and music carrying between them until the crowd thinned out.
The walls were hung for the night and the doors stayed open — paintings, prints and small work, with people moving slowly through the rooms between the stalls outside.
Tables of work made by hand — jewellery, crafts, ornaments and food — each one brought and sold by the person who made it.
Once it got dark, the singing started.
Dancers, singers and choirs took the stage through the evening.
